So now it begins…

I mentioned the Star Wars Alienware Auroras last month in a post, and I just received the notice that they are preselling them for an estimated ship date of June 8th or something like that. Let me refresh your memory:

I just finished configuring mine for a grand total of $3,178.00… Not too shabby. The specs are insane.

AMD 64 4000 HT

2GB of DDR DDR PC 3200 RAM

Dual NVIDIA GeForce 6600 GT PCI Express 128MB DDR3

74GB SATA 10,000 RPM boot drive & secondary Drive

Creative SB Audigy 2 ZS High Def. 7.1 Surround

16x Dual Layer DVD±R/W Drive

Creative Inspire T5400 5.1 74-Watt Speakers
The list goes on. It’s a beast of a machine with awesome graphics on the tower. Which path to choose, the way of the Jedi or the Dark Side. It’s a tough choice – and if I could blow 6 g’s – I’d get both.

Now see what I have to do now, is figure out how much it would cost me to build a similar system and ask myself if the Star Wars graphics on the tower are worth the extra duckets… Probably not, but I feel I would be remiss if I did not at least try and convince myself that it’s a good deal.

  1. Woo Hoo!! I would love one of these…mine was $3800 smackers…And I got the same parts from NewEgg for about $1600…maybe they will sell just the case… 😉

  2. I’m guessing not. Those AMD 64 4000+ are pretty pricy coming in at around $550 bucks +/-. Fast though.

Just need to get some high res images, and make some stickers for the sides of your case & :: POOF :: instant Star Wars computer…
